What makes a password secure
- Length matters most. 12+ characters, and 16+ for important accounts.
- Mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols.
- Use a different password for every site. If one leaks, every account with the same password is at risk.
- Avoid birthdays, phone numbers and dictionary words.
Is this generator safe?
Passwords are made with your browser's crypto.getRandomValues() (cryptographically secure random numbers) and are never sent or stored anywhere.
If remembering many passwords is hard, use a password manager (Google Password Manager, iCloud Keychain, Bitwarden etc.) and turn on two-factor authentication for important accounts.
