Base64 and URL encoding
- Base64: a way to turn binary data like images and files into 64 letters and numbers. Used in email attachments, data URLs and API auth headers. It isn't encryption — anyone can decode it.
- URL encoding (percent encoding): turns Korean, spaces and special characters that can't go in an address bar into codes like
%EC%95%88. When a shared link looks garbled, decode it to see the original address.
