What is JSON?
JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is the most common format for exchanging data in web APIs and config files. It's human-readable, but minified one-line responses are hard to follow.
Common errors
- Comma after the last item:
{"a":1,} - Single quotes: JSON strings must use double quotes
- Missing quotes on keys:
{a:1} - Comments: the JSON standard doesn't allow comments
Data you enter is never sent to a server, so you can safely format responses that contain API keys.
