Image size and file size
A photo's size (resolution) is its width × height in pixels, and its file size is the bytes it takes up. Halving the dimensions cuts the pixel count to a quarter, so the file size drops a lot too.
Common sizes
- Instagram square 1080×1080, portrait 1080×1350
- YouTube thumbnail 1280×720
- Blog body width 900–1200px
- KakaoTalk profile 640×640 or larger
Keep aspect ratio
With "Keep aspect ratio" on, entering just the width sets the height automatically so photos don't get squished. To crop to an exact ratio, use the image cropper.

FAQ
Does enlarging improve quality?
No. Enlarging beyond the original just adds pixels; it doesn't sharpen and looks blurry.
