Information hidden in your photos
Smartphone photos store information called EXIF: date and time taken, phone model, camera settings and, if location services are on, the GPS coordinates where it was taken.
Why remove it?
Posting an original photo taken at home to a secondhand marketplace or community can reveal where you live. Some services like KakaoTalk and Instagram strip EXIF on upload, but email, original blog attachments and file sharing often keep it.
Photos are never uploaded to a server — they're processed only in your browser. Safe even for personal photos, IDs and documents.
